DHA Beating Victim
In a harrowing account of a violent incident that shocked Karachi, Sudhir—the victim in the DHA assault case—has spoken out, revealing chilling details of how he and his family were attacked by armed men, including prominent businessman Salman Farooqi, following a minor road mishap.
Speaking to Aaj News in an exclusive interview, Sudhir recounted that the incident occurred while he was in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area to pick up his sisters from their office. As he maneuvered his motorcycle near their workplace, it accidentally grazed a nearby car. What should have been a minor incident quickly escalated into a terrifying ordeal.
According to Sudhir, the car’s driver reacted violently, assaulting him despite his repeated apologies. Matters worsened when another man, reportedly armed, joined in. He forcefully dragged Sudhir into the vehicle, where the beating continued.
Inside the car, Sudhir alleged that Salman Farooqi, a known businessman, and the armed accomplice continued to physically assault him while his sisters screamed and pleaded for mercy.
Sudhir claimed that despite their cries, the attackers showed no restraint. He was not only physically assaulted but also threatened with further violence. Eventually, after inflicting serious injuries and issuing threats, the perpetrators let him go. Shaken and fearing for their safety, Sudhir and his family reportedly left their home following the attack.
Aaj News managed to locate and interview Sudhir on Tuesday, just a day after his disappearance from the public eye. The case had already sparked public outrage, and calls for justice were growing louder across social media.
In response to the incident, Karachi Police launched an investigation and successfully arrested Salman Farooqi, who has been identified as one of the main suspects. Authorities also apprehended another individual, Owais Hashmi, for his suspected role in the attack.
The case has reignited public concerns about lawlessness and abuse of power by influential individuals in the city’s elite neighborhoods. Investigations are ongoing, and police have vowed to pursue justice for the victim without fear or favor.
