Fake European Visas
On Sunday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration team carried out a significant operation at Islamabad airport, leading to the arrest of six passengers who were bound for Saudi Arabia, according to a report. The operation uncovered a scheme involving fake European visas.
The individuals arrested were identified as Rizwan Ali, Mazhar Abbas, Usman Ali, Tanveer Khalid, Fanwat Azim, and Yasir Iqbal.
They were initially traveling to Saudi Arabia under Umrah visas when they were stopped by immigration officers.
During a routine inspection of their luggage, the officers discovered the fake European visas that led to their arrest.
According to the FIA spokesperson, the accused hail from various regions including Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Kotli in Azad Kashmir.
The preliminary investigation revealed that these individuals had intended to travel to Europe from Saudi Arabia using the forged visas and other counterfeit travel documents.
The FIA spokesperson further detailed that the fake visas had been procured through various agents, who charged substantial sums for these illicit documents.
The arrested individuals are now in the custody of the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad, where they are being investigated further.
The primary objective of this ongoing investigation is to identify the agents involved in the visa fraud scheme and to take appropriate legal action against them.
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by FIA to combat human trafficking and fraudulent travel documents.
The agency is working diligently to track down those responsible for facilitating such illegal activities and to prevent the misuse of travel documents.
The case underscores the seriousness with which the FIA addresses such offenses and the measures it takes to safeguard the integrity of international travel and immigration systems.
