Eid Celebrations
Islamabad police have implemented a comprehensive security plan to maintain law and order in the federal capital during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. The city has been placed on high alert, with more than 3,500 police officers and personnel deployed for patrolling and crime prevention from Chaand Raat until the third day of Eid.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Syed Nasir Ali Rizvi, has stated that strict measures are in place to curb aerial firing, hooliganism, and other illegal activities. He emphasized that any violations of the law will result in immediate action, ensuring a safe and peaceful environment for citizens.
To strengthen security across the city, checkpoints have been set up at 18 entry and exit points. These checkpoints will be manned by security personnel to monitor movements and prevent any potential threats.
The police have also devised a detailed plan to counter street crimes and disturbances, with special attention given to preventing incidents of aerial firing, which pose serious risks to public safety.
In addition to general security measures, Islamabad police have made arrangements to provide a secure and enjoyable environment for families visiting recreational spots.
Two major parks, Lake View Park and Daman-e-Koh, have been designated as family parks. To ensure a safe experience for visitors, special police deployments will be stationed at park entrances, and bicycle patrols will be conducted within the premises.
Traffic management is also a key focus of the security plan. Over 500 traffic personnel have been assigned to maintain smooth traffic flow across the city, particularly in areas experiencing increased movement due to Eid festivities.
Special arrangements have been made for tourists traveling to and from Murree to facilitate a hassle-free journey and avoid traffic congestion.
To enhance monitoring and surveillance, the Islamabad police will utilize advanced security systems, including body-worn cameras, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems, and vehicle trackers. Officers and personnel will be conducting round-the-clock patrolling to prevent unlawful activities and ensure the safety of the public.
Islamabad police remain committed to providing a secure environment for residents and visitors during Eid-ul-Fitr. The cooperation of the public is essential in ensuring a peaceful and joyous celebration for all.
