Security Forces Kill Five Terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations

Security forces have neutralized five terrorists in three distinct operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.

A joint intelligence-based operation in Mohmand district successfully neutralized three terrorists, including “Kharji alias Qari of Fitna Al Khawarij,” stated the military’s media wing. During this operation, a terrorist hideout was uncovered, yielding a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives. Police constable Abrar Hussain, a resident of Swabi district, valiantly fought but embraced Shahadat during the intense exchange of gunfire.

In a separate intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of “Kharji Sifatullah Mullah Mansoor of Fitna Al Khawarij.” Three other terrorists were injured in the encounter. Kharji Sifatullah was implicated in numerous terrorist activities, including facilitating a suicide bombing in Daraban on December 12, 2023, and was highly sought by law enforcement agencies.

In a third engagement in the North Waziristan district, security forces neutralized another Kharji terrorist from Fitna Al Khawarij. The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, are committed to ensuring peace and stability across the nation, with such sacrifices strengthening their resolve.

Last week, security forces killed a terrorist in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Hoshab district after a gun battle with the terrorists. Additionally, three terrorists were killed while attempting to infiltrate Pakistan via the Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dir district.

To counter the resurgence of terrorism and cross-border infiltration, especially in KP and Balochistan, the federal government recently launched “Azm-e-Istehkam,” a strategic anti-terror campaign as part of the National Action Plan. The Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) reported 380 violence-linked fatalities and 220 injuries in the second quarter of 2024, with KP and Balochistan suffering the majority of these casualties and incidents.
