The Supreme Court of Pakistan has launched an e-filing system across all its registries, marking a significant shift toward digital transformation.
According to an official statement, the e-filing system is now operational at the principal seat in Islamabad, along with the Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta registries. Through this system, petitions, memos, judgments, and orders will be accessible online, streamlining court procedures and improving transparency.
As part of the new case management system, litigants will also receive email notifications to stay updated on case progress. This digital move aims to save time, reduce costs, and limit the reliance on physical paperwork.
To ensure smooth adoption, the Supreme Court has mandated that lawyers register for the e-filing platform. Bar Councils have been asked to submit contact details, including email addresses and mobile numbers, of registered lawyers to facilitate communication.
Additionally, government departments have been instructed to appoint focal persons to coordinate and support the e-filing process. The court has also provided a dedicated contact number to guide users and raise awareness about the system.
This initiative reflects the judiciary’s commitment to modernizing legal processes and enhancing public access to justice by leveraging technology.
