LAHORE: Khalilur Rehman Qamar, a prominent Pakistani scriptwriter known for his influential work in television and film, was abducted and robbed in Lahore, police reported. The incident occurred after Qamar was lured to a house by a woman named Amna, who invited him under the pretense of discussing a drama project.
Upon arriving at the location, Qamar was seized by armed men who subsequently robbed him. According to reports, Qamar was forced to pay a significant amount of money to his abductors before being released. The Sundar police station in Lahore has registered a case following Qamar’s complaint.
The first information report (FIR) details that Qamar was subjected to torture and taken to various locations by the suspects. The kidnappers allegedly threatened his life and demanded money from his relatives. Additionally, the FIR indicates that Qamar’s mobile phone, watch, and cash were stolen, and Rs 250,000 was withdrawn from his ATM card.
Qamar further reported that the kidnappers blindfolded him and abandoned him in a deserted area before fleeing.
