Rawalpindi Police Dismiss ASI Imtiaz Nasir for Assaulting Woman in Taxila

Rawalpindi’s Chief Police Officer (CPO), Syed Khalid Hamdani, took decisive action by dismissing Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Imtiaz Nasir from duty in the aftermath of an incident where Nasir slapped an elderly woman in Taxila.

The dismissal came following a thorough inquiry, as confirmed by a post from Rawalpindi police’s official account. CPO Hamdani underscored the zero-tolerance policy for any form of misbehavior and ill-treatment towards women within the department, emphasizing the commitment to self-accountability.

In response to the video footage that circulated widely on social media, CPO Hamdani had initially suspended ASI Nasir. The video depicted the ASI attempting to restrain the elderly woman as part of an operation to arrest Basir Khan, a suspect wanted for alleged pickpocketing incidents. The situation escalated when ASI Nasir slapped the woman and forcefully pushed her to the ground near a car.
