Rajender Meghwar has made history as the first Hindu officer to join the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP). He has commenced his role as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Faisalabad after passing the highly competitive Civil Services Examination (CSS). Meghwar’s accomplishment is particularly significant as he hails from Badin, an underprivileged area in Sindh, where opportunities are often limited.
In his media interactions, Meghwar expressed immense pride and fulfillment in achieving his dream of serving the nation. He emphasized the importance of his role in addressing the challenges faced by his community. “Joining the police force gives me a platform to directly tackle issues affecting my community at the grassroots level, something that wouldn’t be possible in many other capacities,” he explained.
Meghwar’s groundbreaking achievement reflects the progress of minority representation in Pakistan’s civil services and inspires others from marginalized backgrounds to strive for excellence.
In addition, another milestone has been achieved by Roopmati, a minority woman from Rahim Yar Khan, who has also cleared the CSS exam. Roopmati aspires to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to contribute to strengthening Pakistan’s global image. Her ambitions highlight the growing participation of minorities in roles that shape national and international policies.
Together, Meghwar and Roopmati’s achievements underline the increasing inclusivity and diversity in Pakistan’s public service, serving as a beacon of hope for others to overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
