LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar stated on Friday that Pakistan has evidence of Indian involvement in the Sialkot incident and authorities have apprehended a significant number of involved individuals.
During a press conference in Lahore following the Sialkot incident, IGP Dr. Usman Anwar asserted that the incident constituted an act of terrorism. He provided further details, mentioning that outsiders sponsored the attack. A rogue nation provided financing and planned it, while a malicious agency, known for often taking unilateral actions, executed it. He also accused this hostile agency of falsely justifying killings across the world.

The IGP noted that authorities identified individuals who facilitated and carried out the attacks within 24 hours and most of them are already under arrest. He announced that relevant authorities would present the information to the world after submitting it to the courts.
Dr. Anwar stated that modern tools were employed by the police to identify the network behind the attack, including those who conducted reconnaissance and carried out the shooting. Multiple intelligence agencies collaborated with the police and the Counter Terrorism Department to solve the crime.
The IGP emphasized that Pakistan’s foreign office would collaborate with other departments to promote peace worldwide.
The incident in Sialkot involved the killing of Maulana Shahid Latif in a mosque, and it appeared to be a targeted killing, as reported by local police officials.
