PTI Office in Islamabad De-sealed, Party Alleges Theft

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has desealed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretariat in the federal capital, following orders from the Islamabad High Court. However, opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan has alleged that various equipment, including TVs, computers, cameras, and documents, have been stolen from the office.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) staff, accompanied by a magistrate, carried out the desealing process. This action came after the Islamabad High Court ordered the reopening of the PTI’s central office and directed the party to implement fire safety measures in the building.

In a statement to the media after the desealing, Omar Ayub Khan said, “We have assessed the situation after the office was desealed, and we have found that TVs, computers, cameras, and documents have been stolen.” He added that the party plans to file a case regarding the theft soon.

This development follows a court directive issued on Tuesday, instructing the desealing of the PTI secretariat. The court’s decision emphasized the importance of fire safety measures, which the PTI is now required to implement.

The desealing of the PTI secretariat and the subsequent allegations of theft have generated significant attention. The alleged theft raises questions about the security and handling of the office during its closure.

In related news, the Islamabad High Court’s order to deseal the PTI secretariat was part of a broader judicial review of actions taken against the party. The court’s directive underscores the ongoing legal and administrative challenges faced by PTI, particularly concerning the management and security of its premises.

The incident has added to the PTI’s challenges, highlighting issues of security and legal compliance. The party’s response, including the planned legal action, will be closely watched as the situation develops.

Overall, the desealing of the PTI secretariat marks a significant step in the party’s efforts to restore its operations in Islamabad, despite the setbacks posed by the alleged theft. The forthcoming legal proceedings will likely shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the missing equipment and documents.
