PTI Leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi condemns the Arrest of Imran Khan

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, a prominent political leader of PTI vehemently condemned the arrest of Imran Khan. He stated that the arrest was nothing but a manifestation of political revenge orchestrated by the ruling government. Qureshi accused the government of misusing state institutions to target their political opponents and suppress dissenting voices.

According to Qureshi, the decision to arrest Imran Khan was biased and discriminatory, as it was solely aimed at undermining the credibility and popularity of the opposition leader. He argued that the timing of the arrest, coinciding with crucial political events and elections, raised suspicions about the government’s intentions.

Qureshi further emphasized that the arrest of Imran Khan was a blow to democratic principles and the rule of law in the country. He called for an independent investigation into the matter, expressing concern that the arrest might set a dangerous precedent of using state power for political gains.

Atta Tarar Supports the Court’s Decision

Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, strongly criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. He compared Khan to a pharaoh and accused him of arrogance and pride. Tarar made these remarks following Imran Khan’s arrest in the Toshakhana case.

In a fiery address outside the Prime Minister’s House, Tarar stated that the Toshakhana case was unnecessarily prolonged for 11 months. He claimed that Imran Khan sought repetitive attendance waivers to avoid facing justice.

Tarar described the verdict as a historic moment, declaring Imran Khan a certified thief in the eyes of the law. He highlighted that Judge presided over the case and provided ample opportunities for Imran Khan to present his defense. However, the evidence presented during the trial pointed to corruption and malpractices by the PTI Chairman.

He stated that despite the chances given to him, Imran Khan’s arrogance and pride have been shattered today. The Toshakhana case revolves around allegations of misdeclaration and selling of gifts received by government officials. Tarar also mentioned that corruption, in this case, extends beyond Imran Khan and involves those close to him as well.
