After a month of missing, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Sadaqat Ali Abbasi finally returned home. A video circulating on social media captured the emotional reunion between him and his family members.
On October 3, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi granted him bail in the GHQ attack case. PTI leader, Mr. Abbasi was picked up outside Parliament Lodges, and a petition seeking his recovery was pending before the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The petition asserted that unknown individuals abducted the PTI leader and requested his safe return.
However, Mr. Abbasi appeared before the Rawalpindi ATC and requested pre-arrest interim bail. The judge granted him bail on the condition of posting a 50,000 surety bond. ATC Judge Malik Ejaz Asif also instructed Mr. Abbasi to cooperate with the investigation and appear before the police as necessary. The court scheduled the next hearing of his bail petition for October 10.
PTI Leader Usman Dar Resigns, Alleges May 9 Events Targeted COAS Overthrow
Meanwhile, Usman Dar, a close aide of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, announced his departure from the party. He cited the events of May 9, when PTI workers vandalized state installations following the arrest of the former prime minister, as the primary reason for his decision.
In an interview, Dar alleged that the motive behind the May 9 events was to overthrow the army chief, General Asim Munir. He also blamed the PTI leadership for orchestrating these events and claimed that Imran Khan chaired the meeting that planned the “plan of action” in case of his arrest.

Following the events, a crackdown resulted in the arrest of numerous party workers and leaders, including Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Dar’s disappearance and reappearance had also sparked legal proceedings, with his brother-in-law filing a petition in the Sindh High Court, which subsequently directed police to register a case regarding his disappearance.
