ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shandana Gulzar was reportedly arrested by the police, according to a post by PTI leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat on social media platform X. Marwat claimed that Shandana was “abducted at gunpoint” by Islamabad police at 5 pm.
Marwat stated that he had received information about the arrest from Shandana’s mother, who witnessed the incident. The official account of PTI also shared the post. The post expressed strong disapproval of the arrest, characterizing it as “absolutely shameful” and labeling the regime as “fascist.” It alleged that Shandana Gulzar’s only crime in the eyes of the regime was her affiliation with PTI and support for Imran Khan.
The arrest comes amidst the political changes in Pakistan as the current government’s term ends and discussions about the future governance of the country are taking place.
