PTA reduces registration fee for iPhones

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decreased the registration fee for older handsets of Apple iPhones, following the announcement by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

After the FBR’s declaration to lower taxes on Apple smartphones, the PTA made the decision to reduce the registration fee for older iPhone models.

The reduction in registration fees was announced by the PTA in two categories: passport-based and CNIC-based fees.

The registration fee for the iPhone 8 on the passport was set at Rs38,922.

The registration fee for the iPhone 8 on CNIC was set at Rs48,314.

For the iPhone 8 Plus, the registration fee on the passport was established at Rs40,951. The registration fee for the iPhone 8 Plus on CNIC was fixed at Rs50,546.
