ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has rescheduled the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023 to September 10. The original date for the exam was August 23, as initially announced.
The PMDC communicated this adjustment through a notification issued on August 15. The MDCAT 2023 will adhere to a uniform syllabus policy across the entire country, and the syllabus for the entrance exam will remain the same as the previous year.
The postponed exam date might offer candidates additional time to prepare for the MDCAT.
Earlier, a group of foreign graduates staged a protest outside the PMDC headquarters in Islamabad. They requested a change in the scheduled date for MDCAT 2023 and a reduction in the passing percentage required for them.
The protesters argued that very few countries around the world impose a passing percentage as high as 70%. They also questioned the unequal treatment of foreign graduates when they have already fulfilled the admission requirements for medical schools in their home countries.
