Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia today to participate in the Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh on Monday. The summit will address the escalating crises in Gaza and Lebanon, focusing on Israeli actions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif plans to reiterate Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and engage in broader discussions on the regional situation and ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, who has already arrived in Saudi Arabia and performed Umrah, will attend the OIC Foreign Ministers’ meeting on November 11.
Following his visit to Saudi Arabia, PM Shehbaz will travel to Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 12 to 13 for the COP29 climate conference organized by the United Nations, which will be held from November 11 to 22. At the conference, he will underscore Pakistan’s vulnerability to climate-related challenges, calling for environmental justice and increased cooperation among affected countries through the Loss and Damage Fund.
