Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the formation of a negotiation committee comprising members of the ruling coalition to facilitate dialogue with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding National Assembly matters.
The initiative follows a request by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, who urged the National Assembly Speaker to mediate talks. He emphasized the importance of resolving political differences through dialogue, highlighting national security and the country’s greater interests.
The committee includes prominent figures such as Senator Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Abdul Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Sardar Khalid Magsi.
Prime Minister Shehbaz lauded the Speaker’s mediatory efforts and called for unity, stating, “Pakistan belongs to all of us, and we must prioritize the nation’s interests.” He stressed the necessity of bridging political divides to ensure stability and progress.
The committee aims to create a platform for constructive engagement between the government and the opposition, fostering mutual understanding and addressing key national issues.
