On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, on his swearing-in as the Prime Minister of India. Using his personal account on X (formerly known as Twitter), PM Shehbaz expressed his congratulations: “Felicitations to @narendramodi on taking oath as the Prime Minister of India.“
This message of congratulations came a day after Modi took the oath for his third consecutive term as prime minister, maintaining his leadership position.

Narendra Modi was sworn in on Sunday for a record-equalling third term, though his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) faces a less dominant position this time, challenging his ability to maintain policy stability in the world’s most populous nation.
President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to Modi in a grand ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the presidential palace in New Delhi. The event was attended by thousands of dignitaries, including leaders from seven regional countries, Bollywood stars, and industrialists.
Modi, who began his career as a publicist for the Hindu nationalist Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological parent of the BJP, is only the second person after independence leader Jawaharlal Nehru to serve three consecutive terms as prime minister.
At 73, Modi secured his third term in elections concluded on June 1, backed by 14 regional parties in his BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This contrasts with his previous two terms, where the BJP won an outright majority. Despite predictions from surveys and exit polls that the BJP would secure even more seats than in 2019, the outcome was seen as a setback for the popular leader.
