On Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and enduring friendship with China, emphasizing that politics should not affect their bilateral relationship.
During a meeting with a seven-member journalist delegation returning from an official visit to China, PM Sharif praised the consistent support China has provided to Pakistan. The delegation included Salman Ghani, Aamir Mir, Shiraz Hasan, Khizr Hayat, Khalid Hasnain, Azam Malik, and Matiur Rehman, and was hosted by the China Public Diplomacy Association. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also participated in the discussion.
PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed his appreciation for the warm reception from Chinese leaders and citizens during his recent trip. He highlighted that China’s support in difficult times reflects the depth of their partnership and urged that projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) should not be subjected to political interference.
He updated on the progress of the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed during his visit, assuring that steps are being taken to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan and to advance the rapid implementation of CPEC’s second phase.
Recent discussions with Chinese experts who visited Pakistan have led to expanded cooperation in various areas. Sharif reiterated his dedication to using his term to advance Pakistan’s development and strengthen collaboration with China.
