KARACHI: Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to combat terrorism relentlessly and without compromise. He emphasized that surrender is not an option in the face of radicalism, extremism, and intolerance. He declared that Pakistan would stand strong against these forces and would govern the country on its own terms. The PM stated, “This is our home, and we will run the country on our terms.”
Kakar’s statement followed a tragic incident in South Waziristan where six soldiers lost their lives in a firefight with terrorists. The military’s media division reported that the troops engaged the terrorists effectively. It resulted in the deaths of four militants and caused injuries to two others.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, PM Kakar conveyed a resolute message, asserting that such attacks would not deter the country. He emphasized the nation’s unwavering commitment to honoring its martyrs’ sacrifices and continuing their legacy.
Kakar highlighted that Pakistan is funding its law enforcement agencies with its own resources generated through taxes. He underscored that the country is not dependent on donations for its efforts against terrorism.
He emphasized the deep respect and honor the nation holds for all law enforcement personnel. Kakar stressed that the respect extended to them was is than just financial compensation, as the nation pays them with honor and admiration.
Prime Minister Kakar addressed those who perpetrate violence, referring to them as “suicide bombers” and “dogs of hell.” He sent a clear message to the people spreading such ideologies that the country would persistently fight against their misguided beliefs.
PM urges the Business community to cooperate
During a meeting with business leaders in Karachi, Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar encouraged the business community to promote cooperation, open dialogue, and avoid tax evasion for the greater good of the nation.
Kakar urged the business community to “share their blessings” and engage in meaningful communication with each other and with the government. He emphasized that optimism and positive change can be achieved through collaborative efforts.
He stressed the importance of mutual understanding, stating, “We need to start by listening to each other. We will listen to you (traders), and you listen to the state and the government.”
Kakar highlighted that the benefits and blessings individuals receive should be shared collectively rather than retained individually. He encouraged the business community to consider sharing their prosperity at all levels.
Outlining the government’s economic strategy, he emphasized the intention to impose taxes and use those funds to support the underprivileged. He asserted that fulfilling these goals was the government’s responsibility.
