On Monday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited troops deployed on the front lines along the Line of Control (LOC) in Sarian Sector as part of the Kashmir Solidarity Day observance, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Accompanied by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, General Munir visited Muzaffarabad. They laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, paying homage to the sacrifices of martyrs. The leadership acknowledged the resilience and unwavering faith of Kashmiris in the face of the brutality of Indian occupation forces in Indian-occupied Kashmir, describing it as exemplary.

Addressing the humanitarian and security crises in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), they emphasized that these issues seriously threaten regional peace and stability. The officials reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination, as per the UNSC resolutions.
The leadership expressed concern about India’s attempts to change the demography of IIOJK through illegal administrative measures and draconian laws. They emphasized that such actions cannot suppress the will and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
During his visit to the LOC, COAS Munir was briefed on the latest situation and appreciated the operational readiness, high morale, and effective response of troops to Indian ceasefire violations (CFVs). He reiterated that any aggression or violation of Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty would be met with a full national resolve and military response.
COAS Munir also highlighted India’s state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan, extending to the targeting of individual Pakistani citizens on the country’s soil. He condemned India’s disregard for international law and norms, noting that such actions were being openly criticized by many countries worldwide, exposing India’s credibility.
