LAHORE: For medical reasons, the national airline has prohibited its personnel from going without food or water while flying.
Abdullah Hafeez, the spokesman for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), acknowledged receiving the notification of the restriction.
According to the notification, any staff member who feels the need to fast will be put on administrative leave.
PIA and Emirates are the only two airlines in the world that allow their crews to fast throughout Ramadan. PIA, on the other hand, has now joined the list of airlines that forbid crew members from fasting while in the air. Manager of PIA Flight Services, Amir Bashir, had made the announcement.
