LAHORE: A violent confrontation unfolded at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on Monday, involving female passengers and customs officials.
The altercation began when two women, arriving from Abu Dhabi, challenged customs officials regarding the non-clearance of their luggage, which contained Lehenga dresses and closed-circuit cameras. A viral video of the incident shows both sides engaged in a physical scuffle, with customs officers and passengers slapping each other.
At one point, a female customs officer was seen dragging one of the passengers by the hair. The incident was sparked by the customs clearance issues surrounding the items in question.
Authorities have confirmed that one of the women involved in the altercation has been taken into custody for slapping a customs officer. A case has been filed against the passenger, and legal action is underway.
This confrontation follows a similar incident where a former Quetta commissioner and his daughter were removed from a flight for misbehaving and assaulting a flight attendant, drawing further attention to rising instances of misconduct involving passengers.
