RAWALPINDI: In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the May 9 incidents in Lahore, a three-member team from the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) has arrived at Adiala Jail to conduct the first-ever polygraph test on PTI founder and chairman, Imran Khan. The PFSA team, comprising Waqas Khalid, Abid Ayub, and Ali Raza, is tasked with gathering critical information to aid in the investigation.
The presence of high-ranking officials, including Deputy Superintendent of Police Jawed, Inspector Rana Akmal, Rana Akram, and Alam, underscores the gravity of the situation and the importance of the polygraph test in the investigative process.
On July 15, the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court granted a 10-day physical remand of Imran Khan in connection with 12 cases stemming from the May 9 incidents. These cases have been registered across multiple police stations in Lahore.
Specifically, Khan has been remanded in five cases from the Sarwar Road police station, three cases from the Gulberg police station, and one case each from the Race Course, Mughalpura, Shadman, and Model Town police stations.
Additionally, Imran Khan faces charges related to high-profile arson attacks, including those on Jinnah House, Military Tower, and Shadman. These charges have added to the complexity and sensitivity of the investigation, leading to his arrest at Adiala Jail.
The polygraph test conducted by the PFSA team represents a crucial step in the investigation as authorities seek to gather more detailed information about Khan’s involvement in the May 9 incidents. The results of this test are expected to play a significant role in shaping the direction of the ongoing legal proceedings and the broader investigation into the events of that day.
