Parvez Elahi Slams NAB Over False Plea Bargain Claims

Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has criticized the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), accusing the agency of disseminating fabricated and misleading information about him. During a media briefing, Elahi vehemently denied the accusations, asserting that numerous government employees had been coerced into plea bargains through abductions and torture, with their funds falsely attributed to him.

Elahi stated, “These allegations are baseless. I have not engaged in corruption nor participated in any plea bargain.” He disclosed that he faces a total of 25 allegedly false cases and boldly challenged authorities to initiate even more cases against him if they wish.

Reaffirming his alignment with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its leader, Imran Khan, Elahi expressed his unwavering support for the party, suggesting that the ongoing allegations are part of a broader political scheme aimed at undermining his reputation. He emphasized that he remains steadfast and is prepared to confront these challenges head-on.

Elahi further criticized NAB’s methods, arguing that their tactics reflect a serious miscarriage of justice. He accused the agency of using underhanded methods to malign his reputation and questioned the legitimacy of their actions. According to Elahi, the entire campaign against him is politically motivated and designed to discredit him in the eyes of the public.

The former chief minister’s statements mark another chapter in his ongoing struggle with NAB, with whom he has had several legal confrontations. Despite the mounting challenges, Elahi declared that he remains resolute in his commitment to PTI and will continue to support Imran Khan’s leadership, highlighting his dedication to the party’s vision and goals.
