Naseer Soomro, Pakistan’s tallest man, has passed away at the age of 55 after a long battle with lung disease and joint pain. He died in his hometown of Shikarpur, where he will be laid to rest, according to his family.
Standing at a remarkable height of 7 feet 9 inches, Soomro was among the tallest individuals in the world, towering over others by at least three feet. His extraordinary stature earned him both national and international recognition, making him a symbol of pride for Pakistan on the global stage.
Struggles and Recognition
Soomro, who worked as an employee of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), was initially hired due to his exceptional height. Despite his fame, in recent years, Soomro faced neglect from both the government and his own employer, PIA. He battled ongoing health issues and financial struggles, which made life increasingly difficult for him.
According to his family, Soomro had been hospitalized several times due to chronic lung disease, but he continued to fight his declining health until the end.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed deep sorrow at the news of Soomro’s passing. In a statement, he extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Soomro’s family, acknowledging his unique contributions that brought global recognition to Pakistan. The CM also praised Soomro’s remarkable life and the pride he instilled in the nation.
