PTI leader and singer Abrar ul Haq removed as PRCS Chairman

Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari has been named the next PRCS chairman for a period of three years by President Arif Alvi.

The appointment of Laghari was announced by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination.

On November 15, Abrar ul Haq was chosen to lead the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) as its new head.

His nomination as Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) was challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), and the court annulled those directives January 2019.

Saeed Elahi, the outgoing chairman of the Red Crescent Society and acting chairman of the organisation prior to his expulsion, had filed the case at the high court contesting Abrar Ul Haq’s appointment.
