GILGIT: The Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has given his approval to Raja Azam Khan Amacha as the party’s candidate for the position of Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan.
Raja Azam Khan Amacha has been officially nominated by the PTI party as the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. The PTI parliamentary party announced the decision.
Raja Azam Khan Amacha’s nomination received unanimous support from PTI members, demonstrating a strong endorsement of his capabilities and leadership.
The spokesperson revealed that the Chairman of the PTI personally approved Raja Azam Khan Amacha as the party’s candidate for the position of Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The PTI spokesperson highlighted that the party enjoys a significant majority in the Gilgit-Baltistan Council. This substantial support strengthens the prospects of Raja Azam Khan Amacha in assuming the role of Chief Minister of GB.
In a significant development, Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid of GB was disqualified on Tuesday by the Chief Court. The disqualification came as a result of a case related to a fake degree.
Justice Inayatur Rahman, leading a three-member larger bench, announced the reserved verdict of the case.
A No-Trust Motion Filed against the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly speaker
Following the disqualification of GB Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid, there has been an escalation in political tensions in the region. This has led to the filing of a no-confidence motion against the Speaker of the GB Assembly, Nazir Ahmed. The motion reflects the heightened political dynamics and indicates a challenging environment in the region.
Opposition leader Amjad Advocate submitted a motion in the assembly.
The Secretary of the GB Assembly has promptly issued notices to all lawmakers, summoning them to a special session to discuss and vote on the motion.
