Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, met with Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, on Wednesday to discuss matters related to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
Dr. Al-Rabiah congratulated Sardar Yousaf on assuming his ministerial role and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to facilitating Pakistani pilgrims. Both officials discussed enhancing services for Hajj and Umrah travelers and expanding the Road to Makkah initiative to additional cities in Pakistan.
Sardar Yousaf expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their dedication to ensuring high-quality services for pilgrims. He emphasized the strong historical, cultural, and religious ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Al-Rabiah reiterated that Saudi Arabia considers it an honor to serve the large number of Pakistani pilgrims visiting each year. He assured that any challenges faced by Pakistani pilgrims would be addressed as a priority.
During the meeting, Sardar Yousaf highlighted registration issues affecting Hajj pilgrims, and Dr. Al-Rabiah pledged to implement necessary measures for their resolution. The Saudi minister also noted that the Kingdom has introduced various new initiatives to further enhance pilgrimage services and assured greater cooperation with Pakistan in this regard.
Sardar Yousaf acknowledged the efforts of the Saudi government in improving facilities for Pakistani pilgrims.
The meeting was also attended by Saudi Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and Director General of Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro.
