Pakistan Navy successfully test-fires surface-to-air FN-6 missile

The Pakistan Navy achieved a significant milestone on Wednesday with the successful firing of surface-to-air FN-6 missiles using its ground-based air defense system. Vice Admiral Raja Rabnawaz, Commander Coast, presided over the event as the chief guest, marking the occasion with commendation for the operational prowess demonstrated.

According to a statement by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the live weapon firing exercise showcased the Pakistan Navy’s capability to engage and neutralize aerial targets effectively. The ground-based air defense system demonstrated its reliability and precision in hitting designated targets, underscoring its role in bolstering national defense.

Commander Coast expressed utmost satisfaction with the readiness and performance of Pakistan Navy’s Ground Based Air Defense System following the successful exercise. He emphasized the system’s critical role in safeguarding Pakistan’s maritime borders and its capacity to respond robustly to any potential threats or provocations.

In addition to its defensive capabilities, the Pakistan Navy has actively contributed to regional security initiatives. In May, the deployment of the warship PNS ASLAT in the Indian Ocean exemplified Pakistan Navy’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of merchant ships navigating crucial sea lanes.

The successful missile firing not only underscores Pakistan Navy’s operational preparedness but also highlights its ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region. As tensions and challenges evolve, Pakistan Navy remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting national interests and promoting regional security cooperation.

The event serves as a testament to the professionalism and dedication of Pakistan Navy personnel, who continue to enhance their capabilities through rigorous training and modernization efforts. Looking ahead, the Navy remains vigilant and prepared to confront emerging security threats effectively, bolstered by its advanced defense systems and strategic deployments.
