BBC claim
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reiterated its stance denying any arms trade with Ukraine or Russia, denying recent BBC claim of weapons sale to Ukraine.
During the Foreign Office’s regular media briefing, spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch clarified, stating, “We lack the capability to identify the origin of weaponry used in the conflict.”
She emphasized that Pakistan strictly adheres to end-user certificates for all arms transactions.

BBC claimed had alleged possession of documents indicating Pakistan’s arms sales to Ukraine, referencing a British military cargo plane landing at PAF Base Nur Khan.
The report linked these flights to heightened Pak-UK relations and the conflict in Ukraine, but Pakistani authorities persistently refute these claims.
Furthermore, the spokesperson disclosed ongoing talks between Pakistan and Russia on counter-terrorism, led by Additional Secretary Haider Shah from the Pakistani delegation.
Regarding counter-terrorism intelligence, Pakistan highlighted the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s communication with illegal residents within the country.
The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s consistent requests for action against TTP hideouts in Afghanistan, stressing that these bases are used for attacks on Pakistan.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar urged Afghanistan to act against TTP hideouts and training centers, emphasizing the importance of preventing their use against Pakistan.
In global affairs, Pakistan condemned Israeli aggression in Gaza during the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s joint Extraordinary Session in Riyadh.
PM Kakar demanded an immediate ceasefire and emphasized adherence to UN resolutions for resolving the Palestine issue.
Additionally, Pakistan welcomed its election to the UNESCO Executive Board for 2027, aiming to foster connectivity across all regions. Baloch urged the international community to halt Israeli attacks on Gaza’s hospitals, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to humanitarian causes.
