Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub alleged on Friday that the government is unwilling to engage in meaningful negotiations with the party.
Speaking on the issue, Omar Ayub stated, “Everyone now realizes that the government has no interest in holding talks.” He emphasized that the PTI founder formed a negotiation committee with genuine intentions, clearly outlining the conditions for dialogue.
“It has been two weeks since the committee was formed, yet there has been no progress in initiating discussions,” Ayub remarked, expressing frustration over the government’s lack of response.
He further noted, “If the government was serious about negotiating, it would have facilitated a meeting between the committee and the PTI founder.” Highlighting the party’s stance, Ayub added, “We don’t see the need to continue pursuing talks if the government itself is unwilling to engage.”
Ayub’s comments underline the growing frustration within PTI regarding the stalled negotiations, as the party accuses the government of deliberately avoiding dialogue despite the PTI’s efforts to approach the issue constructively.
The lack of progress comes at a time of heightened political tensions, with PTI asserting that genuine dialogue is essential to resolving ongoing issues. The party has criticized what it perceives as the government’s indifference, warning that such an approach could deepen the political impasse.
The PTI leader urged the government to take the matter seriously and create an environment conducive to meaningful negotiations, warning that further delays would erode public trust and worsen the political climate.
