Notorious Bishnoi gang claims responsibility for firing incident outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s home

Anmol, the brother of Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has claimed responsibility for the gunfire incident outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence in Bandra on Sunday.

According to Indian news agencies, two assailants on motorcycles, believed to be associated with the infamous Bishnoi gang, fired shots outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment in Bandra during the early hours of Sunday.

Khan and his parents were inside the apartment at the time, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Although two security guards responded to the gunfire, the assailants had fled the scene by then.

CCTV footage captured the two assailants, who are said to have links with Bishnoi gang member Rohit Godara, known for his involvement in various violent crimes, including the recent murder of Gurugram-based businessman Sachin Munjal.

Shortly after the incident, Anmol Bishnoi allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack on social media, issuing a warning to Salman Khan. He stated, “Salman Khan, do not underestimate us. This gunfire was just a warning to show our power. Consider this your first and final warning. If you provoke us further, there will be more gunfire at your doorstep.”

Anmol’s post also included provocative remarks about Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Shakeel, contrasting their revered status with the gang’s disdain. He then highlighted Lawrence Bishnoi’s longstanding vendetta against Khan, stemming from the actor’s involvement in the killing of a black buck, which holds religious significance for the Bishnoi community, back in 1998.

Salman Khan has been under Y-Plus security since last year following threats from the gang, triggered by a threatening email to his personal assistant.

Additionally, his father, Salim Khan, received a direct threat at Bandra Bandstand, indicating repercussions similar to the fate of Indian Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, who was slain in 2022 by members of the same gang.

Anmol himself is implicated in Moose Wala’s murder and is currently on the run. He allegedly fled abroad on a forged passport last year and has been spotted socializing with Punjabi singers Karan Aujla and Sharry Maan in the US.
