No load-shedding in Ramazan during Sehr-o-Iftar time: Dastgir
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy Division Engineer Khurram Dastgir said that there will be no load-shedding across the country during Sehr-o-Iftar time.
Minister stated this a day ahead of the beginning of the holy month of fasting. Ruet-e-Hilal committee is set meet today for moon-sighting to announce the beginning of Ramazan, probably from Thursday.
He said, “There will be no electricity outage during two hours of Sehri, one hour during Iftar and two hours during Tarawih.”
Availability of electricity is deemed essential during sehr-o-iftar timings in the fasting month. Electricity enables the believers to make adequate arrangements with convenient to start and finish their fast.
He pointed out that in case of transformer fault/failure, additional transformers will be made available. Special teams have been formed to tackle the complaints in an urgent manner, he added.
Meanwhile, this time, the minimum amount for the deduction of Zakat is Rs 103,159 in Pakistan.
In 2022, the application of Nisab (Zakat) was deducted from minimum amount, Rs 88,927.
The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety today announced the Nisab for collection of Zakat on the 1st of Ramazan, starting from March 23.
Like the past, Zakat will be deducted at source _ from saving accounts, profit and loss sharing (PLS) accounts and other accounts, having at least Rs103,159 or above balance.
Every year, Zakat is deducted on the first day of the holy month of Ramazan. On this day, banks remain closed for public dealing with the aim to deduct Zakat.
