On Tuesday, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), expressed confidence in his party’s success in the upcoming general elections, stating that the dawn of February 9 would herald prosperity for Pakistan.
Speaking at a public gathering in Kasur, where PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif is contesting, the former prime minister emphasized the initiation of development projects if the party regains power.
Nawaz Sharif reiterated the PML-N’s commitment to steering the country in the right direction and criticized the potential return of what he referred to as “fraudsters” to power. He took a swipe at the previous rulers, possibly referring to the PTI-led federal government, noting the unfulfilled promises of houses and employment, resulting in significant financial losses for the country.
Expressing regret over the overthrow of his government in 2017, Nawaz Sharif claimed that if it had not happened, the citizens would have had ample employment opportunities. He reiterated his vision for Pakistan to regain its status as an ‘Asian Tiger,’ emphasizing the role of youth in achieving this goal and urging the country to overcome ongoing crises and embrace development.
Nawaz Sharif urged his brother Shehbaz Sharif to provide resources to the country’s youth, whom he believes will shape Pakistan’s destiny. Additionally, he requested Shehbaz Sharif to build a Danish School in Khadian and pledged to transform the city’s roads to resemble those in Paris.
In a previous public gathering in Murree, Nawaz Sharif promised a train service from Islamabad to Murree and Muzaffarabad, highlighting the support of the youth for his party. Criticizing the PTI government for unfulfilled promises and lack of action for Pakistan, he affirmed PML-N’s commitment to rebuilding the country.
