NAB summons Imran Khan in unlawful transfer of 190 million pounds in the al-Qadir Trust case

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan today in an illegal transfer of 190 million pounds in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

NAB has instructed Imran Khan to present himself at the NAB office in Rawalpindi at 11:30 AM on Friday. Khan he will probe further in this case. NAB also directed Khan to bring along all relevant documents pertaining to the Al-Qadir Trust.

The PTI supremo received the summons at both his Bani Gala residence and Zaman Park address.

This appearance will mark the first time the PTI Chairman appears before NAB following his ex-aide, Azam Khan, who recently recorded his statement in relation to the same case.

Al-Qadir Trust case background

Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz, along with former ministers of Imran Khan’s cabinet, recorded their statements with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al Qadir University land allotment case.

The development surfaced on Wednesday as NAB pursues a graft case against Imran Khan.

Others involved in the case are former federal overseas minister Zulifiqar Bukhari, and former advisor on accountability Shehzad Akbar. In this case land Malik Riaz donated land for Al Qadir Trust University in exchange for £190 million (Rs70 billion) seized in the UK would be returned to Malik Riaz.

Imran Khan fears his disqualification: NAB summons him today

 PTI chairman Imran Khan anticipates his disqualification in the Toshakhana case. He believed this after a district and sessions court declared four witnesses in the case as irrelevant.

However, Khan has approached the high court against the decision.

The district and sessions court called for final arguments from the parties on Thursday (today) regarding the gift case.

The court has asserted that it will reserve the decision if the parties fail to present their arguments.
