Mustafa Amir murder case: Girl tortured by Armaghan records statement with police

A new development has surfaced in the Mustafa Amir murder case, as another victim, a young woman named Zuma, has provided a harrowing statement against the main suspect, Armaghan.

According to sources, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) recorded Zuma’s testimony, detailing the alleged abuse she suffered. She stated that Armaghan lured her into a room under the pretext of discussing a laptop and then brutally assaulted her.

Zuma claimed that Armaghan accused her of leaking information about a call center and proceeded to beat her with an iron rod, inflicting severe injuries. She further revealed that another individual, Shiraz, intervened to stop the attack.

Following the assault, Zuma was taken to a private hospital, but not before being subjected to further threats. She alleged that Armaghan threatened to falsely implicate her in a legal case and even attempted to kill her on the way home. She also claimed that hospital authorities were pressured into fabricating a false medical report regarding her injuries.

Her testimony adds another layer to the ongoing investigation, bringing increased scrutiny on Armaghan and his alleged criminal activities. Law enforcement agencies continue their inquiry as new evidence emerges.

Drug Trafficking Allegations in Murder Investigation

Investigators have also alleged that both the victim, Mustafa Amir, and another suspect, Sahir Hasan, were involved in drug trafficking. A judicial magistrate has remanded Hasan, the son of a well-known actor, into police custody.

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) presented Sahir in court after completing his physical remand, which was extended for an additional day at the request of investigators. Officials confirmed that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has joined the probe, focusing on potential money laundering and cybercrime aspects, while the SIU continues to investigate drug-related links.

Sources indicate that the case has revealed connections to an international drug network.

Key Developments in the Mustafa Amir Murder Case

The high-profile murder of 23-year-old Mustafa Amir has remained a focal point of media attention. He was reportedly abducted on January 6, but the case gained traction following a police press conference the following month. Six days later, authorities in Balochistan discovered a charred body in a burnt vehicle, which was handed over to the Edhi Foundation.

On February 14, police alleged that Mustafa’s friends had abducted and murdered him. His body was placed in the trunk of his car and set ablaze in Balochistan’s Dureji area. Investigators arrested Sheraz, also known as Shavez Bukhari, who allegedly disclosed key details during interrogation.

The prime suspect, Armaghan, was later apprehended during a raid at a residence in DHA after a ransom demand of Rs20 million was made to the victim’s family. Police sources revealed that a four-hour gun battle took place during the arrest. Authorities seized laptops and discovered bloodstains on a carpet inside the house.

Investigators suggested that a conflict over a woman might have led to the murder. Meanwhile, Mustafa’s mother accused the same woman of being involved in the crime, stating that she had fled to the United States after the incident.

On February 15, an anti-terrorism court placed Sheraz in police custody until February 21. However, law enforcement faced challenges in obtaining physical remand for Armaghan. Legal experts explained that the case fell under the jurisdiction of the Anti-Terrorism Court after Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act was added to the charges.

The same day, three police officers were suspended for alleged negligence in handling the case.

Suspect’s Criminal History and Investigation Updates

Police records indicate that Armaghan has a history of criminal activities, including extortion, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and illegal possession of firearms.

During a visit to Armaghan’s residence, authorities observed that the premises were equipped with high-tech systems resembling a “software house.” Meanwhile, his father, Kamran Qureshi, defended his son, denying the accusations and instead alleging that Mustafa was involved in selling drugs. He further claimed that a police officer was orchestrating the entire case.

On February 17, a judicial magistrate approved the exhumation of Mustafa’s body, appointing a three-member medical panel for examination.

The next day, an anti-terrorism court remanded Armaghan into police custody for four days and requested a medical report. An interrogation report indicated that Mustafa and Armaghan were childhood friends, aligning with statements given by Sheraz.

On February 20, Armaghan allegedly confessed to the murder, with investigation reports stating that he gave the victim an opportunity to escape before setting him on fire. The burnt vehicle, believed to have been used in the crime, was located in Balochistan’s Dureji region.

During a televised interview, Armaghan’s father claimed to possess substantial evidence and warned that the case could expose high-profile individuals if it continued.

On February 22, the anti-terrorism court extended the remand of Armaghan and Sheraz by five days. The investigating officer reported that two blood samples were collected from the suspect’s house, one of which belonged to an unidentified woman. Authorities also briefed the court on ongoing investigations into possible money laundering activities linked to the case.

Meanwhile, four additional individuals, including the son of a well-known actor, were arrested. One of the suspects reportedly admitted to selling drugs to Mustafa.

Forensic analysis confirmed that the remains recovered from Dureji belonged to Mustafa Amir.

On February 23, the victim’s funeral prayers were held at Masjid Ali in DHA Karachi. His father refused to accept “diyat” (blood money) for the crime.
