Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired a meeting on Energy Issues Related to Industry

Today, the Finance Division hosted a session overseen by Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, aimed at tackling the energy-related hurdles encountered by the industrial sector.

Key attendees encompassed Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, Minister for Commerce Mr. Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Industries & Production Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain, National Coordinator SIFC Major General Tabassum Habib, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mr. Jahanzeb Khan, Chairman APTMA Mr. Asif Inam, as well as other prominent industrialists and pertinent federal secretaries.

The central agenda revolved around deliberating and devising remedies for the power sector challenges affecting the business community. Mr. Shahzad Saleem, Chairperson of Nishat Chunian Group, delivered a comprehensive outline of the obstacles and suggested measures, with a focus on energy pricing.

The Finance Minister acknowledged the industry’s apprehensions and affirmed the Government’s unwavering backing to the business sector. He reassured that every essential measure would be undertaken to ensure a steady power supply. Furthermore, the Finance Minister designated Mr. Ali Pervaiz Malik MNA as the focal point to coordinate with ministries for expeditious issue resolution.
