Mohsin Naqvi, Saudi Interior Minister Discuss Enhanced Security Cooperation in Riyadh

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif in Riyadh on Tuesday to discuss strengthening security cooperation between the two nations.

During the high-level meeting at the Saudi ministry’s headquarters, both leaders underscored their commitment to bolstering bilateral ties, particularly in combating drug smuggling and addressing shared security challenges.

Prince Abdulaziz warmly received Naqvi and his delegation, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Pakistan. Naqvi expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s consistent solidarity, highlighting the enduring religious and fraternal bonds between the two nations.

“Saudi Arabia has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times. We extend our best wishes for its visionary leadership and people,” Naqvi remarked.

The leaders pledged to enhance anti-narcotics efforts and other collaborative measures, further solidifying the long-standing strategic partnership between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Pakistani officials, including Ambassador Ahmed Farooq, Passports and Immigration Director General Mustafa Jamal Qazi, and Interior Ministry Additional Secretary Riffat Mukhtar Raja.

Representing Saudi Arabia were Deputy Interior Minister Nasser Al-Dawood, Public Security Director Lt Gen Mohammed Al-Bassami, and the director general of anti-narcotics.

Mohsin Naqvi, who arrived in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, previously held discussions with Saudi Minister of State for Interior Dr Khalid Mohammed Abdullah Al Battal, where both sides agreed to activate a joint task force soon.

In another meeting yesterday with Major General Mohammad bin Saeed Al-Qarni, Saudi Arabia’s director general of anti-narcotics, Naqvi discussed measures to combat drug trafficking.

The interior minister also extended congratulations to Saudi Arabia for securing the hosting rights for the 2034 FIFA World Cup and conveyed good wishes for its success.
