Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad on Sunday.
During the meeting, they emphasized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China as pivotal for enhancing the enduring friendship between the two countries.
Minister Naqvi assured China of Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to protecting Chinese citizens. He highlighted extensive security measures implemented nationwide, especially in Islamabad.
Concerns regarding the safety of Chinese engineers and staff involved in various projects were addressed by Minister Naqvi, who outlined stringent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed at ensuring their safety.
He emphasized the establishment of a specialized Security Protection Unit (SPU) dedicated to safeguarding foreign nationals, demonstrating Pakistan’s proactive approach in protecting its international partners.
Minister Naqvi affirmed, “The safety and well-being of our Chinese friends contributing to Pakistan’s development are our utmost priority,” reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to its enduring friendship with China and rejecting any efforts to undermine this bond.
Ambassador Jiang Zedong expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s proactive security arrangements, affirming China’s commitment to its “all-weather” friendship with Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and mutual cooperation across various sectors.
The meeting, attended by Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Ali Agha and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy, reflected mutual dedication to enhancing security measures and strengthening diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.
Both sides concluded the meeting positively, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring a secure environment for all citizens and promoting mutual prosperity through collaborative projects.
