Modi and Meloni Recreate Viral ‘Melodi Selfie’ at G7 Summit

During the G7 summit in Southern Italy, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a moment of lighthearted camaraderie by recreating their famous “Melodi” selfie from the COP28 summit last year.

The two leaders, known for their warm rapport, seized the opportunity during their meeting at the G7 summit to capture another iconic selfie, which quickly gained attention across social media.

In a video posted by PM Meloni on her official social media channels, both leaders are seen waving cheerfully at the camera, with Meloni saying, “Hello from the Melodi team.”

Their previous selfie at COP28 had gone viral, resonating widely due to the blend of their names into “Melodi,” which phonetically resembles “melody.”

This time, as they recreated the selfie, the Italian premier captioned the moment with “Good friends at COP28,” reigniting the internet’s enthusiasm for their unique bond.

Prime Minister Modi warmly responded to Meloni’s post, emphasizing the enduring friendship between Italy and India with the words, “Lunga vita all’amicizia Italia-India! (Long live Italy-India friendship).”

The interaction between Modi and Meloni underscored the diplomatic relations between the two nations, highlighting a shared commitment to collaboration and mutual respect on the global stage.

As their “Melodi” selfie continues to circulate online, it stands as a testament to the power of personal connections in fostering international goodwill and cooperation.
