McDonald’s Pakistan has emphasized that the American fast-food chain in Pakistan has no connection to the one operating in Israel. This clarification comes in response to backlash over the Israeli chain’s decision to offer free meals to Israeli forces during the conflict with Hamas.
In a statement shared on social media, McDonald’s Pakistan clarified that it is a local enterprise, fully owned and operated by SIZA Foods Pvt Ltd Pakistan. The statement affirmed that it has no affiliation with McDonald’s operations in Israel, which is a locally-owned Israeli enterprise.
McDonald’s issued the notification in the wake of a trending hashtag, “Boycott McDonald,” on social media, which emerged after the Israel branch of McDonald’s announced on Instagram that they were providing free meals to Israeli soldiers through specific branches dedicated to aid and donations for security and rescue forces.

The decision by McDonald’s Israel led to criticism, particularly in the Muslim world, where many expressed their disapproval, pointing out that Israel had been blocking food, water, and electricity access to Gaza.
McDonald’s Pakistan’s statement stressed that the two entities operate independently, making their own business and communication decisions. The Pakistan branch of the fast-food chain has been operating in the country since 1998 and has expanded to include 81 restaurants nationwide.
The statement further underlined that McDonald’s Pakistan is a commercial entity with a focus on serving quality food and providing excellent service. It does not engage in any form of political activities and is dedicated to delivering the McDonald’s experience customers know and trust. The company expressed its commitment to serving the community and contributing to its success.
