Mardan blast kills 1 policeman, injures 4

Mardan’s DPO told reporters that a bomb went off at the Chamtar police check station, killing one officer and wounding four others, two of whom were also officers.

Two bystanders were also injured, he said.

Heavy police and rescue personnel responded to the blast site and transported the injured and the dead officer to the hospital for medical care and legal formalities.

The authorities have started looking into the explosion to see what caused it and how powerful it was.

Up till now, no group has taken credit for the blast.
