man sought in connection with a murder case has been extradited from Oman

The Federal Investigation Agency’s National Central Bureau Interpol recently achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending a notorious fugitive, Qazim Ali, in Oman.

Ali, wanted by the Punjab Police for his involvement in multiple criminal cases, notably a murder case dating back to 2022, had fled abroad to evade justice. Following his arrest, Ali was swiftly transported to Karachi and handed over to Punjab Police for legal proceedings.

In parallel operations, the FIA NCB Interpol conducted successful maneuvers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), resulting in the apprehension of nine other wanted criminals. Among them were Irfan Asghar, Farhan Nazakat, Samar Abbas, Najibullah, Saddam Hussain, Muhammad Rafeeq, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Usman, and Tariq Mehmood, all sought by Punjab Police for serious offenses including murder and attempted murder. Some had managed to evade capture for up to 14 years.

Plans are now in motion to extradite these individuals back to Pakistan, with a dedicated team already deployed to the UAE to facilitate the extradition process. These arrests underscore the FIA’s relentless efforts, working in close cooperation with international partners through Interpol, to track down fugitives and ensure their prosecution within Pakistan’s judicial framework.

The FIA spokesperson emphasized the significance of these apprehensions, highlighting them as a testament to the agency’s commitment to combatting transnational crime and bringing perpetrators to justice.

Cooperation with international law enforcement agencies, particularly through Interpol channels, has proven pivotal in locating and apprehending fugitives who attempt to evade justice by crossing international borders.

The successful operations in Oman and the UAE reflect the FIA’s capability to pursue fugitives globally, reinforcing Pakistan’s resolve to uphold the rule of law and ensure accountability for serious criminal offenses. Moving forward, the agency remains vigilant and proactive in its pursuit of justice, leveraging international partnerships to dismantle criminal networks and safeguard communities from the threat of cross-border crime.

As these cases progress through legal proceedings, the FIA continues to collaborate with relevant authorities to uphold the integrity of extradition processes and ensure that all accused individuals face trial in accordance with Pakistani law. This commitment underscores Pakistan’s dedication to international cooperation in the fight against crime, reinforcing its role as a responsible member of the global community in combating transnational criminal activities.
