Man beaten to death over unpaid loan in Karachi

KARACHI / ISLAMABAD: A man was allegedly beaten to death in Karachi over his failure to repay a loan, Today. A video showed a man being beaten with sticks and belts.

A viral video circulating on social media depicted a man being violently assaulted within the premises of a Rent-A-Car office at Karachi’s Nagan Chowrangi. The individuals captured in the video can be seen using belts and sticks to beat him.

As the police approached, the assailants quickly fled the scene, leaving the injured man behind in the office. Tragically, the man’s injuries proved fatal shortly thereafter.

SSP Central Maroof Usman confirmed the man’s identity as Adeel. Following the incident, the deceased’s sister lodged a case against eight individuals, resulting in the arrest of four of them.

According to the police, Adeel was engaged in a dispute regarding the repayment of a loan with an ‘influential’ individual.

The police have gathered evidence from the crime scene and are actively searching for the remaining four men who have been named in the FIR.

Meanwhile, Shah confirmed that he and 18 other ministers have handed in their resignations to the interim CM Azam. Furthermore, he indicated that an additional 8 ministers have a plan to submit their resignations tomorrow.

Shah further revealed that CM Azam personally requested the resignations during a tea gathering with his cabinet earlier today.
