A major was martyred, and 13 terrorists were killed during three separate operations conducted by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over two days, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Major Muhammad Awais, 31, a resident of Narowal district, embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with terrorists in North Waziristan. In the same operation, five militants were neutralized, while eight others sustained injuries.
In a second intelligence-based operation in the Jani Khel area of Bannu district, security forces killed two terrorists.
In South Waziristan, a third encounter resulted in the elimination of six militants, with eight more injured.
ISPR emphasized that the ongoing sanitization operations aim to clear the areas of any remaining militants. The statement reaffirmed the armed forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism, noting that the sacrifices of brave soldiers like Major Awais strengthen Pakistan’s resolve to combat such threats.
These operations are part of the military’s continuous efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and ensure the safety and security of the region.
