RAWALPINDI: In a clearance operation conducted in Mach and Kolpur, Balochistan, security forces successfully neutralized 24 terrorists, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operation was a response to a terrorist attack on the Mach and Kolpur Complexes in Balochistan that occurred on the night of January 29/30, 2024.
According to ISPR, the sanitization and clearance operations were executed, successfully securing the area after eliminating the terrorists involved in the attack. Over the past three days of intense firefights and clearance operations, key terrorists, including Shehzad Baloch, Attaullah, Salah Uddin, Abdul Wadood, and Zeeshan, were among the 24 terrorists killed, as stated by ISPR. The identification process for the remaining terrorists is currently underway.
However, the intense exchange of fire resulted in the tragic loss of four brave members of Law Enforcement Agencies who valiantly fought and sacrificed their lives, along with two innocent civilians.
The ISPR praised the effective response of the Law Enforcement Agencies, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to the fight against terrorism. The statement highlighted that Pakistan’s Security Forces stand united with other Law Enforcement Agencies to ensure peace and stability in the country.
It is noteworthy that an earlier attack in the town of Machh, Bolan, involving the firing of fifteen rockets, had caused panic in the area. The security forces responded promptly to the attacks, revealing subsequent investigations that indicated links between the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Front (BLA) and the Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). This revelation underscores the complex and interconnected challenges faced by security forces in the region.
