The lion remained on the loose for over an hour
ISLAMABAD: A lion, which created a commotion in Karachi on Tuesday evening as it leisurely strolled along the city’s primary road, Shahrah-e-Faisal, has now been successfully captured.
The majestic appearance of the large feline left citizens and passers-by astounded and incredulous.
They swiftly sought shelter for protection from the unexpected sight. However, the animal inflicted an injury on one citizen during its leisurely stroll.
Subsequently, the lion made its way to the car park of a building close to Ayesha Bawani College. This prompted the arrival of wildlife department officials who successfully captured it.
Simultaneously, the police apprehended the owner of the lion.
The police reported that the lion managed to escape while being transported to a veterinarian in a loader vehicle.
Earlier, Javed Mehar, the Conservator of Sindh Wildlife Department, emphasized that keeping lions in residential areas is against the law.
He further highlighted the existence of a black market for wild animals in the country, leading to the unlawful possession of such animals by individuals.
