The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced Tuesday that an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat district resulted in the elimination of at least 11 terrorists connected to the attack that led to the martyrdom of seven army personnel.
Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas and Subedar Major Muhammad Nazir were among the soldiers lost in the recent Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion, prompting the military’s response to bring the perpetrators to justice.
During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ positions, resulting in the successful neutralization of eleven militants and the discovery of multiple terrorist hideouts. A thorough sanitization operation is ongoing to root out any remaining terrorists as part of the ongoing effort to eradicate terrorism from the region.
In previous months, security forces conducted a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, neutralizing a total of 23 terrorists. These operations included engagements in Hassan Khel, Peshawar district, where six terrorists were eliminated, as well as in the Tank district, where ten militants were killed.
Additionally, in Bagh, Khyber district, security forces killed seven terrorists and injured two others. Significant quantities of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the terrorists, who were actively involved in targeting both security forces and innocent civilians, according to the ISPR.
