KP House
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially sealed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad, citing violations of building regulations as the primary reason for the action.
According to sources within the CDA, several blocks of the KP House have been sealed. The sealing operation is being conducted under the supervision of Special Magistrate Sardar Muhammad Asif, with Assistant Commissioner Abdullah assisting in the process.
This action follows a significant political protest on October 5th, led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The protest, which took place under heavy rainfall, saw thousands of PTI workers breach police barricades and enter the capital city.
The protesters, estimated to be between 6,000 and 8,000 strong, clashed with law enforcement officers while making their way to China Chowk on Jinnah Avenue. The unrest led to numerous arrests as tensions escalated throughout the day.
After briefly addressing the crowd at China Chowk, Chief Minister Gandapur proceeded to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House.
In response, the federal government issued stern warnings to Gandapur and PTI, emphasizing that there would be serious repercussions for their actions.
Amidst the unfolding events, the federal government took a firm stance, condemning the disruption caused by the protest.
Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, accused the federal government of illegally arresting Chief Minister Gandapur.
However, PTV News contradicted these claims, reporting that legal proceedings against Gandapur were in progress.
Federal ministers, including Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Atta Tarar, denied any allegations of Gandapur’s arrest.
Despite the confusion, Gandapur later reappeared in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly late on Sunday night, claiming that he had been inside the KP House throughout the entire ordeal.
His emergence sparked further questions about the federal government’s actions and the circumstances surrounding the protest. The situation remains tense as political tensions continue to rise in the capital.
